Our first gig of the year is booked for Dumfries' Coach and Horses, which'll also be the first time we've played there. We're using this as a chance to try out new material so, you know, come down if you want to hear us play unpolished tunes we'll probably end up chucking out anyway. Starts at 4pm, should be good fun.

Blatant Advertisement Piracy

This is a big deal to us for a number of reasons. I shall now recount them to you:

Stone Run are pretty boss. These guys have played all over the UK and done stuff with Kerrang!, Classic Rock and the BBC. Here's their Facebook.
We get to play at the Venue again! Nothing like twanging on your own turf.
It's Davie's (our manager/promoter/friend/makesthingshappengood/tequliachamp) birthday so chances are it'll be a night and a half.

Please folks, if your coming to any gig make it this one. About as Glasgow music scene as you can possible get, the Barrowlands is a hell of a venue. I saw Franz Ferdinand there 2 years ago and it remains among my favourite gigs of everness.

This is a bit of a place holder post as we don't know what time we're playing or how much tickets'll cost yet. All we know is you should go.

Not going to lie to you: I've never been to Stereo before. In fact I don't even know where it is... That's not say to say that I'm not COMPLETELY AND TOTALLY UTTERLY CAN'T BELIEVE IT'S NOT BUTTERLY pumped for this gig on Sunday. Band night. For fund raising. Proper hardcore.

You know you're a badass rock band when you get to play in a swimming pool! The Dangleberries though, they've done all that and more. As far as nights out go in Dumfries those dudes are probably as good as it gets unless, of course, cruising in a shitty tricked out Corsa down the Sands is you shtick. Fantastic support slot for us. You should go.

Friday marks our last Glasgow gig of the year and what a place to take us out. As ever, we're looking forward to a comfy half hour opener, on this occasion for fellow Glasgow band Tanera Heights (I don't what the name means but it lead me to think about how awesome a band name Tal Tal Heights would be). What I do know is that these guys must be pretty in there because they got us listed in The Skinny which makes me feel all cool and hipsterish. The doors open around 8 and entry is £6. OUT!

We're coming back to Glasgow this month to play as part of the Glasgow University's Band Society night. The gig's in aid of Amnesty International so there will be an entry fee. This, simply put, might actually be the best thing ever. As if playing in Glasgow wasn't a big enough, next Saturday we're getting the colossal opportunity to play in the same building that has provided a stage for some of the world'd best bands. (In fact last week I saw the Eels at this very venue.) We're so excited for this that we might actually explode so make sure you bring your umbrellas. We may "Dumfries' most audit-able, pulchritudinous and life-affirming band who can't drive themselves to their gigs yet" but we've still to play at the town's main locale - some would go as far as to call it THE Venue. This is to be rectified however, as we'll be changing you lives forever on Saturday the 14 August along with some surprise appearances from musicians even awesomer than us (yes, we too were dumbfounded). Guess who made to the finals of the Eden Festival's Battle of the Bands? We're getting so many awesome opportunities these days but this one's particularly nice - if we win we get to perform our very first festival. The competition's though as you'll gather from the list available on the Festival's Facebook, so we really appreciate anyone and everyon who can turn up to Castle Douglas town hall to cheer us on.

There's a "marthon" (hehe) 24 hour-long charity event happening over at Park Farm in Dumfries on Saturday and we're going to be part of it. We've been asked to provide entertainment for the runners as they raise money for charity though I'm sure a bit of encouragement wouldn't go amiss either so make sure to turn up and give them your support. Our set starts at 8 in the evening.

Dumfries and Galloway's local radio station West Sound FM are holding a band competition to play on the main stage at the Wickerman festival and we made the top 10 shortlist! We continue our grand tour of Dumfries next week with a gig at live music pub Broons on Friday night. This will be your second chance to hear the new song which (thank god!) was very well received last night. Entry is absolutely free so there should be a decent sized crowd - no excuses! You may want to check with Broons about the whole 18 age policy. We've had murmurs that it might not be a problem but best to make sure for yourselves.

Our first gig after the exam season lull is going to be taking place in just over a week's time! We're back at So Below on Castle Street, Dumfries, for the first time since January so we're looking forward to it. Tickets are available from the venue itself (check out their fancy new site here) but make sure you grab them before next Friday as it doesn't look like they'll be available on the door. We're hoping to début a couple of new songs so make sure you come hear them for the first time!

Just who are Room16 anyway?

Room16 are one of Scotland's youngest and brightest bands. Their eclectic blend of rock and pop-punk has been encapsulated as "The Ramones fronted by Mick Jagger" and has been described as "Bowie-esque". Fans of the band however, know that the Room16 experience can only be fully appreciated when enjoyed first hand: "manic", "energetic" and "sweatier than Lemmy's arm pits" their arrogant performances have earned them the title of "The Cocky Young B*sterds" locally. Room16 have been making a name for themselves throughout the South-West of Scotland, and this youthful, talented bunch are preparing for further adventures throughout the UK. With gigging time clocked up at notable venues such as Inverness' "Ironworks" and Glasgow's "The Box" and gig requests flooding in, it's looking to be a promising year. Let's face it, you "could be doing a million a million other things" but this is the "Nightlife" for you. (Eh, eh?)

@Ironworks Inverness - Supporting the Dangleberries - 3/4/10

This peeps is the big one. In an amazing turn of events we've managed to land a slot supporting the nationally famous "pipe-rock" crew, the Dangleberries, at Inverness' Ironworks. We're going to be tearing up the stage shortly after the doors open at 7:00pm in what WILL be our best performance yet. We've got a hell of a lot riding on this gig so wish us luck!

Just in case you haven't seen it already we've got an article dedicated to ourselves in last week's paper. It's a great piece all about who we are, where we came from and where we're going next in the run up to our big gig on the 3rd. Unfortunately there is a tad of over exaggeration in the article: while we may get to play in a small-town festival in Italy which Paolo Nutini may or may not play at in September we ARE IN NO WAY playing ALONGSIDE the man himself. PLEASE DON'T SUE US! ;)
